About PresenTense

PresenTense is a grassroots venture aimed at enriching the Jewish People by equipping the next generation of Jewish pioneers and innovators with the tools and ideas they need to launch and develop initiatives that have the potential to change the world and inspire the Jewish People. PresenTense is accomplishing this mission through a portfolio of initiatives, including the PresenTense Institute in Jerusalem, PresenTense Magazine, and PresenTense educational programming.

PresenTense's flagship program, the PresenTense Institute, educates and equips socially-minded entrepreneurs—today's social, cultural, and technological pioneers—with the tools and ideas they need to launch ventures that both impact and represent the Jewish People in the world. Last summer, the PresenTense Institute accepted 18 fellows, assisted in the launch of 12 projects from across the disciplines, and is currently witnessing the early success of five of those projects seven months since graduation. Clear evidence from these projects has shown a strong social return on investment, as these projects affect thousands of individuals around the world.

PresenTense's lead publication, PresenTense Magazine, reaches 30K readers per issue. The magazine is a transdenominational and international marketplace of ideas aimed at invigorating Hebraic culture and provides a nurturing environment where Jewish youth are able to explore and enrich their Jewish identity within a pioneering framework. Portions of PresenTense Magazine's content were recently purchased for syndication on Federation websites across North America.

PresenTense's educational programming, currently active in Jerusalem, New York, and Chicago—and soon in Boston—brings together young innovators and leaders to explore and act on key issues concerning the global Jewish People.

PresenTense as a whole is guided by a set of core values that are elemental to the process of communal enrichment: Creativity, Community and Pioneering.
