Ten to Watch

ten_stars.jpgJews love lists. And everyone loves to name their "top tens." Here's a list of ten people that the World Jewish Digest has commanded us to watch in the next year. And because they digest the world, we've got to listen.
Such a list is bound to have Mark Zuckerberg (#3) on it. The Facebook founder is on everyone's list. And #2 pick Dara Horn? Last week, the acclaimed, erudite writer just won another of many prizes, the coveted Ribalow Award, given annually by Hadassah Magazine. At #5, we meet the founder of the Hebrew charter school movement. If you hang out long enough, you get to #6, JTS Chancellor Arnie Eisen.

What? I missed #4? Second inverted triangle from the bottom? Ariel who?

That's right, PresenTense Editor and Publisher Ariel Beery is #4, putting him closer to Mark Zuckerberg than he's ever been before. (Those two will meet someday, mark my words.) At least I think it's our Ariel--the article mentions the PresenTense Institute, but not the magazine--but I hardly think that Ariel Beerys are out running rampant in the world. So let's assume it's the same Ariel Beery.

So you heard the WJD. Watch him. Watch him so closely you make him paranoid. But hold on, because he's speedy. (For instance, in the time it took me to write this blog post, he and Aharon Horwitz have founded three more companies. What we need is RSS feeds of their brains. But that's another post.)

Kol hakavod, Ariel!
