Webmaster's blog

PresenTense is putting together a survey of its readers to better understand its audience. The questions are easy, brief, and dare we say - fun. Please take a minute to share your thoughts over here.

Good Party for Good Causes

Want to be a part of changing the world? Let PresenTense help you do it. PresenTense kicks off its Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship of 2009 with a Viral Party to write home about! Come join cutting-edge social entrepreneurs, see what they're working on, share your vision, and learn about the PresenTense 2009 Summer Institute and Fellowship. Don't miss this opportunity to meet others who want to make the world a better place.

For generations Israel has been the object of Jewish longing--now it has become a place of living inspiration for an increasingly global Jewish People. As we launch PresenTense Jerusalem and enter a New Year, we're wondering how you think the Capital City of our global people can be transformed to make it more creative, more relevant, and more a part of your life?

PresenTense would like to know.

Add Your Vision   -   See the Visions

Over here at PresenTense Jerusalem, we're taking a hard look at what we're putting on the web. Our new website isn't bad, but hey, it's not that good either.

What's the problem? I can sum it up in one word: involvement. Whatever we did, we failed to really involve the over 100 different people who are already hitting this site on an average day. They come, they go, they leave no footprints. That means that the ideas in their head stay there, there's no cooperation, there's no synergy, the community doesn't happen.

Tamid, a PresenTense 2008 fellow project, just got covered in the Israel Newsletter, an Israel business newsletter that is syndicated across what appears to be dozens of other sites.

Rock On!

The patented PresenTense blazing fast redundant Internet is back online. Oh yeah.

We've moved into our new Jerusalem space, and it's awesome. It's going to house the PresenTense offices, a huge co-working space that will trump any coffee shop in town and be a major creative center, and places for PresenTense members in transit to rest their heads at night. Come visit us while we're arranging and decorating. The official housewarming is going to be on September 25th - save the date.
Haaretz has an article on the first solar farm in Israel (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1015898.html).  I love the idea of selling electricity into the grid, but I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the economics here:

Ycombinator has done the world a service by posting open source equity financing legal documentation.

yCombinator is an inspiration for the PresenTense Institute, and its founder, Paul Graham, is a favorite essayist of ours. One of our favorites, and something we recommend to every one of our fellows, is his essay How not to Die. Hot off the feeds is another article that may become a favorite - A Fundraising Survival Guide.

Enjoy!
