Think for a second: when was the last time you stayed in one city or geographic region for more than one year?

PresenTense's Professional Development seminar, Transmedia Tools and Technology Level Aleph, is being featured by JESNA in their newsletter and on their website. PT's seminars tap the knowledge and the know-how of cutting-edge, next generation Jewish entrepreneurs for the benefit of the Jewish community.

Tired of coffee shops? Seeking creative community as you do your important work?

Over here at PresenTense Jerusalem, we're taking a hard look at what we're putting on the web. Our new website isn't bad, but hey, it's not that good either.

What's the problem? I can sum it up in one word: involvement. Whatever we did, we failed to really involve the over 100 different people who are already hitting this site on an average day. They come, they go, they leave no footprints. That means that the ideas in their head stay there, there's no cooperation, there's no synergy, the community doesn't happen.

yCombinator is an inspiration for the PresenTense Institute, and its founder, Paul Graham, is a favorite essayist of ours. One of our favorites, and something we recommend to every one of our fellows, is his essay How not to Die. Hot off the feeds is another article that may become a favorite - A Fundraising Survival Guide.

Enjoy!

Digital Shitck and Illuminea team up (and PresenTense Cosponsors) to put together the amazing Amuta 2.0 program on August 31st. I'll be speaking, and, more excitingly, social media expert Jeff Pulver will be there. Check it out at http://amuta20.com or read the invite below.

Was amazingly awesome. Today, in general, was amazing--PresenTense took 26 of our community members (Fellows, Steerers, Deborah Fishman the managing editor of PT Magazine, and more) on a trip to survey innovation in Israel's North. And Google was the icing on the cake.

Picture this: colorful beanbags set against free sodas of every type; cheese cakes with chocolate frosting; 30" flatscreens and Segways. There we were, hosted by Galit and given a tour of Google's special sauce by Yoelle--their head of R&D--and we were mesmerized.

Basically it was cool.

Asher Epstein stopped by the PresenTense Institute last week for a pre-institute learning session. He spoke to an audience of about 30 people from the PresenTense staff, steering committee, coaches and mentors. He spoke about the main factors that contribute to the success of any venture.

Listen online, and take a look at the accompanying slide set.

While not completely finished or officially "released," we invite you to check out the growing list of inspiring figures who will be teaching at the 2008 PresenTense Institute.
